Who We Are

The Congregation of Sisters of Saint Joseph of Gerona was founded by Mother Maria Gay TIBAU in Spain on the 29th of June, 1870 at Gerona. We are in Kenya since 16th January 2020, first at Karen ( Marist University college ) learning languages (English and Swahili) a time of unprecedented challenges, yet through unwavering faith and dedication, we have grown into a vibrant presence, sowing peace and harvesting hope in the community. On 31st July 2021 we came to Ngong Diocese, St. Ann Kibiko Parish, where we are engaged in Catechesism, Pastoral care of the sick and visits to the elderly and their families in their homes, bringing them the Holy Eucharist , praying with them, listening and sharing with them the Goods news of Jesus through the Gospel of each Sunday . And we collaborate in different activities with other congregations present in the parish.

Our Stay at Marist Brothers

The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Gerona arrived in Kenya, where they were warmly welcomed by the Marist Brothers in Karen. Soon after, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, but faith, language learning, and prayer prepared them for what came next.
